I’m excited to welcome you to the 2026-27 school year!  I hope you had a great summer. As a staff, we are looking forward to creating another great school year. 

BELOW YOU WILL SEE SOME UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES/TIMES: 

Thursday, August 6 : 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - TK/Kindergarten Parent Orientation (For Parents/Guardians)

Friday, August 7: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Meet Your Teacher (Families with their students)

• Find Out Who Your Teacher Is and Meet Your Teacher

  • If you completed the Aeries Data Confirmation online you can view the teacher's name early on Thursday.

  • Thursday, August 6: Teacher names will be available in your Aeries Parent Portal after 4:00 pm.

  • If Aeries Data Confirmation is not completed, we will help you in the library, then you will find out the teacher's name.

Monday, August 10: First Day Of School | Regular Day | 1st-6th is 7:50 am - 2:30 pm | AM TK & Kinder 7:50 - 11:10 am | PM TK 11:10 am - 2:30 pm

Wednesday, August 26: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Back To School Night (For Parents/Guardians)

• See inside your child’s classroom, learn about the expectations for the year, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

AERIES PARENT PORTAL INFORMATION:

When you registered your student(s) you provided your contact information. This information is vital because it is how the office, the health office, teachers, and staff contact you about your child and tells us who is allowed to pick up your child(ren). Upon registration you should have received information on how to set up your Aeries account. This is also how you can access your student’s school information, including their teacher’s name, grades, attendance, update emergency contacts, etc…

• Aeries data confirmation must be completed every year. 

  • If you need assistance completing Aeries data confirmation, the office is offering help on Wednesday, July 29; Thursday, July 30; and Friday, July 31 between 8 am - 3 p.m. Please call to schedule an appointment with Martha to guarantee a time. Walk-in help is also available, but may require a wait. Spanish translation is available.

• To find out who your child’s teacher is early or on Meet Your Teacher day, please complete the data confirmation in advance. When you arrive to Meet the Teacher and enter through the double black gates next to the cafeteria (tall building), we will be welcoming you and have lists available to check for your child’s name.

  • If you have completed the Aeries data confirmation online then you will see your child’s teacher list in your Aeries Parent Portal as early as August 6. or staff will look at the list the morning of Meet Your Teacher or the 1st Day of School.

  • If you have not completed the Aeries data confirmation, we will send you to the library for assistance with completing the online information. You will still find out who your child’s teacher will be and have the opportunity to meet the teacher.

Through Aeries, you will also have access to Parent Square. This is the main form of communication.  All Parents/Guardians need to activate their accounts as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on important information.  Our communication between home and school will be key to support your student(s).  Please visit our school website Parent Tab https://chinovalleyusd15.smartsiteshost.com/parents for more information on these accounts and other important documents such as the Parent/Student Handbook.   

WEEKLY UPDATES:

To ensure regular communication about school information and events, we will be sending out a weekly family newsletter called “Dickson Stars Weekly Update”. This will be sent out through the Aeries Parent Square and also available on the Dickson website. Please make sure you are receiving messages (email and/or text alerts) through Aeries Parent Square so you don’t miss any school announcements. If you are not receiving weekly messages, please reach out to our school office for assistance.

I’m excited to see our students and families return back to school, and I am confident that the 2026-27 school year will be a success for Dickson as we continue to focus our energy to be student centered, achievement driven, and service oriented.
